The Diocese of Jalandhar owns and administers a number of convent school in punjab and Himachal Pradesh under the dynamic leadership of the Bishop of the Diocese of Jalandhar: One of the main objectives of the Diocese is to impart quality and value bases education to every child in all nooks and corner of these states.

St JOSEPH’S CONVENT SCHOOL, Malpur Aakhan is an English Medium School founded under the aeigs of the Diocese of Jalandhar a and was established in the 17th july 2003 and officially inaugurated on 13th January 2006.

The Diocese has schools not only in cities, but also in remote villages where education, the very right of people is neglected due to many reasons. It attempts in its own humble way to contribute for the progress of our nation, which is possible only if her CITIZENS are freed from the bondage of ignorance. For the general administration of the educational institutes of the Diocese of Jalandhar, “Diocesan Board of Education”, has been constituted .All the educational, managerial and administrative policies are made by this Board in consultation with the Directors and Principals who are the over all in charges of the educational institutes. Undoubtedly, St. Joseph’s is the Premier Institute in Nawanshahr and it has carved out a prominent niche for itself in the history of education in Punjab. This is a high school and has primary and middle school sections from Ist to 10th Std. It is run by the Sisters of St. Anne of Bangalore (SAB) under the management of the Diocese of Jalandhar.

This school is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi. The University of Cambridge with the assistance of inter-state Board for Education established the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination in 1958. In 1973, Govt. of India recognized the Council as a body to conduct public examination for Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) which is recognized by all Education Boards in this country and by many Education Boards overseas too.
